In the begining of this chapter, Telemachus is getting ready to go to the assembly to tell the men that his father is alive and that he's going out to find him. After the assembly, Zeus sends two eagles to the assembly attacking eachother to resemblewar (between Odysseus and the suitors). Later in this chapter Telemachus goes on a journy to find out weather or not his father is dead. If he has found his father is dead, he must give his father a proper funeral and remarry his mother off to one of the suitors. But, if he finds that his father is alive he must wait a year for his fathers return and keep control of the house and the suitors away from his mother. Telemachus makes Eurycleia promise not to tell his mother about his journy until he's 12 days away. Then, Athene goes as Telemachus to gather 20 men for his voyage to act as men on the ship. This chapter ends with Telemachus leaving and beginning his journy.
